 All speakers will present via zoom, so everyone will also have the option of attending via zoom if you do not wish to attend in person. NO MEETINGS WILL BE RECORDED . No drinks or snacks will be provided, but you may bring something for yourself.

Winter Prep

Erin Evans certified as an EAS Master Beekeeper in 2008. She focuses her educational programs on small and mid scale sustainable beekeeping practices for northern beekeepers. Erin’s apiary management program centers around following the bees' own habits and behaviors and working with those systems to enhance apiary and colony level health. Erin teaches queen rearing, swarm management, natural mite control and sustainable harvesting to create a management plan that reduces or eliminates the need for chemical inputs in the hive while maximizing colony strength.

Erin utilizes a wide variety of hive styles in her operation, including several year round observation hives, warre hives, AZ (Slovenian) hives, 8 frame, and traditional 10 frame langstroth hives, and others. A self proclaimed “gadgety beekeeper”, Erin demonstrates a fluency between colony styles which informs a unique perspective on equipment management decisions. Erin is the recipient of three SARE grant awards demonstrating increased colony survival through utilization of northern raised queens.Erin currently manages a mid-size apiary of approximately 70 colonies based in Portland Maine as a sideline to her full time job as the Director of Finance at Maine Audubon.

About MCBAPA
Serving Montgomery, Bucks and surrounding counties in Pennsylvania, the MCBAPA is an association of hobbyist and professional beekeepers. Our mission is to provide education, hands-on training, support and fellowship in all aspects of beekeeping. Both experienced beekeepers and novices participate in our monthly meetings, field trips and social events.This is a good spot to place your secondary navigation gadget, like Navigation links, or Secondary menu.

General membership meetings are usually held the 4th Thursday of the month at 7 pm, but please check our calendar.
