 All speakers will present via zoom, so everyone will also have the option of attending via zoom if you do not wish to attend in person. No drinks or snacks will be provided, but you may bring something for yourself or to share.

Mini Presentation:

Steve Amelang will present: Steps Not Well Known to Determine if Hive is Queenless

Main Topic:

Dr. Michael Simone-Finstrom will present "Understanding and Combatting Impacts of Honey Bee Viruses Through Breeding and Antiviral Treatments". Honey bees are often infected with multiple viruses that cause various symptoms and can lead to colony death. Despite the numerous impacts viruses can have on individual bee and colony health, there are no treatments currently available. He will discuss research how bees are influenced by viruses and work toward controlling viral infection through different management strategies.

Serving Montgomery, Bucks and surrounding counties in Pennsylvania, the MCBAPA is an association of hobbyist and professional beekeepers. Our mission is to provide education, hands-on training, support and fellowship in all aspects of beekeeping.
