General Meeting

Speakers will present via zoom, so everyone will also have the option of attending via zoom if you do not wish to attend in person. Doors will open at 6:45pm and snacks will be shared.

Mini Presentation:

"Pepper Man" Pizzino and Rebecca Pizzino: Will present about Mason Bee rearing. Cocoons will be available for sale and examples of what they use to rear them as well.

Main Topic:

The Dynamics of Honey Bee Flight and Queen Fertilization 

The Dynamics of Honey Bee Flight first explores the beauty and mystery of honey bee flight, then shows a queen's mating flight and reveals the internal process of a queen's fertilization and egg-laying development.

Bio: Bill Hesbach is a Connecticut native with a background in engineering. 

He's an Eastern Apicultural Society Certified Master Beekeeper, a graduate of the University of Montana's master beekeeping program, and the President of the Connecticut Beekeepers Association.  

Bill also operates a side bee business called Wing Dance Apiary in Cheshire, CT., which produces artisanal raw honey and other natural hive products.

Bill teaches bee biology and various beekeeping methods at meetings hosted by regional beekeeping clubs. He is an active member of the Eastern Apicultural Society, where he participates in the Master Beekeeper Certification program, and he is a regular guest speaker at national beekeeping seminars.  

His special interests in beekeeping include bee biology, flight, and the connection between local flora and bee behavior. He's a published author, and his articles on beekeeping appear in The American Bee Journal and Bee Culture magazines.

Serving Montgomery, Bucks and surrounding counties in Pennsylvania, the MCBAPA is an association of hobbyist and professional beekeepers. Our mission is to provide education, hands-on training, support and fellowship in all aspects of beekeeping. Both experienced beekeepers and novices participate in our monthly meetings, field trips and social events.This is a good spot to place your secondary navigation gadget, like Navigation links, or Secondary menu.

General membership meetings are usually held the 4th Thursday of the month at 7 pm, but please check our calendar.
